How Presidio helped Q2 increase efficiency and innovation on AWS

With a long-standing partnership helping amplify Q2’s success in the private datacenter, Presidio was the clear choice consulting partner to help Q2 migrate its largest revenue-generating product – its core digital banking platform – to AWS. Q2 initially planned for a manual migration, due to concerns about potential for costly downtime and their highly complex application environment, but this would not allow Q2 to meet their tight migration deadline. Enter the custom Presidio-built tool, the ‘Q2 Migration Manager' (Q2MM) - an automated, parallel migration platform. In the proof of concept, Presidio migrated 2,000+ customer containers for initial testing, using AWS Migration Acceleration Program (MAP) funding for cost efficiency and project acceleration. This resulted in a 95% migration success rate, reducing migration time per container from two hours to 14 minutes, and optimized manual intervention by 96.3%.
