Keynotes

10:00 - 11:15

From possibility to practice: Reinventing the enterprise from the inside

It’s all changing: a message that comes at every leader thick and fast. When done well, how our organizations operate is still the main reason we capitalize on the ability to be responsive, resilient, and customer-centric. But changing century-old habits is hard. With nearly US$2 trillion spent on transformations annually, but the majority not seeing the expected returns, there has to be a better way. And with the technological pace of change accelerating, the only time better than yesterday to close the gap between what’s possible and what we can actually achieve is today.

Stefan Hoechbauer, Managing Director, AWS Germany and Europe Central
Tom Godden, Director Enterprise Strategy, AWS
Michelle Wu, Chief Digital Data & Technology Officer
René Schneider, Senior Vice President, DB Systel

Racing ahead - data strategy in the era of generative AI

In Formula 1, millisecond victories depend on transforming millions of real-time data points into winning decisions. This same precision can help organizations escape costly "data swamps" and create real business value. Drawing from F1's success model, we present a three-part framework for data excellence: customer-focused decision making, dynamic people-powered strategies, and market-responsive organizational structures. Through real-world success stories, participants will learn practical approaches to transform their data strategy from a technical initiative into a business advantage in today's AI-driven landscape.

Breakout Session

Cloud-Driven. People-Led. How Swiss Life Transformed from Within

Swiss Life Germany was one of the first companies in the FSI industry to successfully migrate its entire application landscape to AWS - relying entirely on internal talent. The key success factor was not the technology itself, but the strategic approach to people and organizational transformation.

As part of the initiative, the company also redesigned its target operating model - moving from a traditional, siloed setup to a process-driven structure with cross-functional, product-focused teams better suited to a cloud-native environment.

Rather than outsourcing, employees were released from their previous roles and upskilled as internal 'migrators', enabling sustainable knowledge transfer and long-term capability. This session explores the strategic rationale behind this approach - and how aligning technology, organization and culture can unlock true transformation in a regulated industry.

Oliver Hackert, Head of IT Services & Operations Management, Swiss Life Deutschland
