Amazon Simple Email Service (Amazon SES) customers can now receive event notifications when the delivery of an email is delayed because of a temporary issue. Previously, if the delivery of an email was temporarily delayed (for example, if the recipient’s inbox was full, or if there was a temporary problem with the receiving email server), Amazon SES would send an event notification after SES’ retry attempts failed.
With this launch, you can configure Amazon SES to send event notifications to Amazon Simple Notification Service (Amazon SNS), Amazon CloudWatch, or Amazon Kinesis Data Firehose, immediately after the delivery delay occurs. Event notifications include information such as the delay type, the date and time when the delay occurred, and the date and time when Amazon SES will stop trying to redeliver the message. To learn more about event notifications in Amazon SES, see Monitoring using event publishing in the Amazon SES Developer Guide.
