The AWS Database Migration Service makes it easy for you to migrate production databases to AWS with minimal downtime. You can keep your applications running while you are migrating your database and the AWS Database Migration Service ensures that data changes to the source database that occur during and after the migration are continuously replicated to the target. Migration tasks can be setup in minutes in the AWS Management Console. The AWS Database Migration Service can migrate your data to and from all widely used database platforms, such as Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL. The service supports homogeneous migrations such as Oracle to Oracle, as well as heterogeneous migrations between different database platforms, such as Oracle to PostgreSQL, PostgreSQL to MySQL, or even to Amazon Redshift and Amazon DynamoDB. The AWS Database Migration service can be used to perform one-time migrations, or can maintain continuous replication between databases without a customer having to install or configure any complex software.
The AWS Schema Conversion Tool, a feature of the AWS Database Migration Service, ports database schemas and stored procedures from one database platform to another, so customers can move their applications from commercial databases to open source. AWS Schema Conversion Tool can also migrate information from a range of data warehouses to Amazon Redshift.
