Amazon EC2 Systems Manager Parameter Store now supports versioning for each parameter.
Previously, parameters used in Parameter Store were overwritten when updated. Now, each iteration of a parameter is saved and can be referenced through its unique version number. This is useful if you need to recover from unintended parameter overwrites or refer to historic parameter values. For example, when rolling back your deployment you can refer to an earlier version of configuration data. Also, you can use historic parameters if you need to report changes for audits.
Systems Manager is available in all commercial regions and GovCloud.
