Amazon EC2 Systems Manager now supports inventory collection from Windows Registry, Windows services, roles and features enabled in Windows Server, and Windows and Linux file metadata such as when a file is created, modified, or accessed.
Previously, you had to write your own scripts to collect metadata from Windows Registry, Windows services, roles and features enabled in Windows Server, and file metadata. Now, Systems Manager will automatically collect metadata from these types, giving you more options for enabling IT governance and compliance scenarios such as application asset management, license tracking, and file integrity monitoring. For example, you can determine if and when unauthorized files were installed on your instance and when they were last accessed, or you can find applications even if they were installed without an installer.
Amazon EC2 Systems Manager is available in all commercial AWS regions and AWS GovCloud.
