AWS Elemental MediaLive Supports Redundant HLS Outputs in Top-Level Manifest

Posted on: Dec 4, 2018

You can now expose clients to 1+1 redundant HLS channels when using AWS Elemental MediaLive. MediaLive provides two encoding pipelines to create a redundant channel. When using an origin service like AWS Elemental MediaStore, both pipelines can be referenced by one top-level HLS manifest for a single, highly available endpoint for your live channel.

AWS Elemental MediaLive is a broadcast-grade live video processing service. It lets you create high-quality video for broadcast and streaming delivery to internet-connected devices. To learn more, please visit aws.amazon.com/medialive.

The service functions independently or as part of AWS Elemental Media Services, a family of services that form the foundation of cloud-based workflows and offer you the capabilities needed to create, package, and deliver video.
