Amazon Neptune now supports the r5.8xlarge instance type

Posted on: Apr 1, 2020

Now you can launch your Amazon Neptune RDF/SPARQL or Apache TinkerPop graph application with an db.r5.8xlarge instance type in all regions where Amazon Neptune is available.

The R5 instance family is based on the Amazon EC2 Nitro System, a combination of dedicated hardware and a lightweight hypervisor that delivers practically all the compute and memory resources of the host hardware to your database instance. With a 1:8 vCPU to memory ratio, R5 instances are well suited for running memory-intensive database workloads.

You can create a new Neptune database with the db.r5.8xlarge instance type, or modify your existing database cluster to scale up to the new instance type using the AWS Management Console, AWS SDK or CLI. Please refer to the Amazon Neptune User Guide and the Neptune pricing page for more details and regional availability.
