AWS DataSync agents are now supported on Linux KVM and Microsoft Hyper-V hypervisors

You can now deploy AWS DataSync agents on Linux Kernel-based Virtual Machine (KVM) and Microsoft Hyper-V hypervisors. This enables you to run DataSync agents on Linux hosts, and in Windows-based environments, in addition to the existing VMware and EC2 options.

DataSync is an online data transfer service that simplifies, automates, and accelerates copying large amounts of data to and from AWS Storage services over the internet or AWS Direct Connect. Using the AWS Management Console, you can download and deploy the virtual machine image for your KVM, Hyper-V, or VMware environments, or launch the agent as an EC2 instance. You can use DataSync to migrate active data to AWS, transfer data to the cloud for analysis and processing, archive data to free up on-premises storage capacity, or replicate data to AWS for business continuity.

DataSync is available in 22 AWS Regions. You can learn more in the DataSync documentation, or log in to the AWS DataSync console to get started.
