AWS Backup adds support for Amazon FSx file systems, automating policy-based backup and restore capabilities for Amazon FSx as well as streamlining compliance and data protection for Amazon FSx customers. You can now create, manage, and restore Amazon FSx backups directly from the AWS Backup console for both Amazon FSx for Windows File Server and Amazon FSx for Lustre file systems.
Using AWS Backup, you apply backup plans to AWS resources, which now include Amazon FSx file systems. AWS Backup plans make it easy to standardize backup policies across AWS services and ensure protection of application data. Getting started is as simple as enabling Amazon FSx backups in the AWS Backup console, creating a backup plan, and assigning an Amazon FSx file system, either via tags or by directly listing the ARN.
