AWS Well-Architected Tool now Supports AWS SaaS Lens

Posted on: Dec 3, 2020

The AWS SaaS Factory Program and AWS Well-Architected teams have combined their expertise in architectural best practices and knowledge of SaaS solutions to launch the new AWS Well-Architected SaaS Lens.

The AWS Well-Architected SaaS Lens adds questions tailored to SaaS workloads to the AWS Well-Architected Tool. These questions are intended to drive critical thinking for developing and operating SaaS workloads. The AWS Well-Architected Tool is based on the AWS Well-Architected Framework, which is a collection of the latest AWS architectural best practices developed to help you build secure, high-performing, resilient, and efficient applications. By answering a set of questions for each of the Framework pillars, the AWS Well-Architected Tool provides a detailed report that helps you understand potential risks in your workloads and identifies next steps for improvement.

AWS Solution Architects from the AWS SaaS Factory Program, having worked with thousands of Independent Software Vendors (ISV) and AWS Partner Network (APN) Partners, view these Well-Architected best practices as a key component of building and operating SaaS architecture on AWS. You can use the SaaS lens to conduct a self-service review of your existing or new workloads, or you can work with an AWS SaaS Competency Partner or AWS Well-Architected Partner for a professional hands-on engagement designed to review and improve your SaaS workloads.
