Amazon FSx, a fully managed service that makes it easy to launch and run feature-rich and highly-performant file systems, is now available in the Africa (Cape Town), Europe (Milan), and Middle East (Bahrain) Regions. With this launch, Amazon FSx is now available in all standard AWS Regions.
With Amazon FSx, customers can leverage the rich feature sets and fast performance of widely-used open source and commercially-licensed file systems, while avoiding time-consuming administrative tasks like hardware provisioning, software configuration, patching, and backups.
Amazon FSx provides two file systems to choose from: Amazon FSx for Windows File Server and Amazon FSx for Lustre. Amazon FSx for Windows File Server provides fully managed, highly reliable file storage that is accessible over the industry-standard Server Message Block (SMB) protocol. Amazon FSx for Lustre provides a high-performance file system optimized for fast processing of workloads such as machine learning, high performance computing (HPC), video processing, financial modeling, and electronic design automation (EDA).
