Today, we are excited to announce the general availability of Amazon Nimble Studio. Nimble Studio is a managed service that empowers creative studios to produce visual effects, animation, and interactive content entirely in the cloud, from storyboard sketch to final deliverable. With Nimble Studio, artists can accelerate digital content creation with virtual workstations, high-speed storage, and scalable rendering across AWS’s global infrastructure footprint.
Powered by Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) G4dn instances, Nimble Studio virtual workstations provide on-demand computing to handle the most challenging content creation projects. Nimble Studio supports both Windows and Linux operating systems, as well as industry-standard digital content creation applications such as SideFX Houdini, Chaos Group’s V-Ray, and Foundry's Nuke so that artists can work with their preferred third-party creative applications. Nimble Studio utilizes Amazon FSx for high-speed storage and provides access to an integrated render farm via the Render Farm Deployment Kit (RFDK) on AWS along with AWS Thinkbox Deadline render management software.
Amazon Nimble Studio is available today in five regions and one AWS Local Zone: US East (N. Virginia), US West (Oregon), Canada (Central), Europe (London), Asia Pacific (Sydney), and Los Angeles (Local Zone), with additional regions coming soon.
