Amazon S3 on Outposts now supports sharing of S3 capacity across multiple accounts within an organization using AWS Resource Access Manager (RAM). Multiple teams within your organization can now create and manage buckets, access points, and endpoints on S3 on Outposts.
Amazon S3 on Outposts delivers object storage to your on-premises AWS Outposts environment to help you meet your low latency, local data processing, and data residency needs. Using the S3 APIs and features, S3 on Outposts makes it easier to store, secure, tag, retrieve, report on, and control access to the data on your Outposts. AWS Outposts is a fully managed service that extends AWS infrastructure, services, and tools to virtually any data center, co-location space, or on-premises facility for a truly consistent hybrid experience.
Now with support for RAM, S3 on Outposts resource management can be streamlined to help reduce operational overhead, provide consistency for sharing resources, and visibility into shared accounts usage. RAM is designed to create a resource share where you specify the resources, principal, and the associated managed permissions. Principals can be an organization or organizational units (OUs) in AWS Organizations, AWS accounts, IAM roles, and IAM users.
Amazon S3 on Outposts, and support for sharing across multiple accounts, is available in all AWS Regions where AWS Outposts is available. To learn more, visit the S3 on Outposts page , or read the documentation.
