AWS Lambda functions powered by next-generation AWS Graviton2 processors are now generally available. Graviton2 functions, using an Arm-based processor architecture, are designed to deliver up to 19% better performance at 20% lower cost for a variety of Serverless workloads, such as web and mobile backends, data, and media processing. With lower latency and better performance, functions powered by AWS Graviton2 processors are ideal for powering mission critical Serverless applications.

Customers can configure existing x86-based functions to target the AWS Graviton2 processor or create new functions powered by AWS Graviton2 using the Console, API, AWS CloudFormation, and AWS CDK. AWS Lambda Layers will also support targeting x86-based or Arm-based functions using either zip files or container images.

AWS Lambda functions powered by AWS Graviton2 processors are available in Asia Pacific (Mumbai), Asia Pacific (Singapore), Asia Pacific (Sydney), Asia Pacific (Tokyo), Europe (Frankfurt), Europe (Ireland), Europe (London), US East (N. Virginia), US East (Ohio), and US West (Oregon).
