Amazon Braket, the quantum computing service from AWS, makes it easy for customers to conduct scientific research and software development with quantum computers. Today, we are excited to announce that Amazon Braket has added support for the new 80-qubit superconducting gate-based quantum processor from Rigetti named Aspen-M-1. With this launch, customers will be able to utilize a multi-chip quantum processor architecture for the first time on Braket. With the new 80-qubit processor, customers can run quantum circuits up to twice the qubit count supported by the previous generation Rigetti device, enabling them to tackle larger problems.
The Aspen-M-1 device is fully supported by Amazon Braket’s recently launched hybrid jobs feature; which enables customers to run hybrid quantum-classical algorithms such as the variational quantum eigensolver (VQE) and the quantum approximate optimization algorithm (QAOA). These algorithms use a combination classical compute resources with quantum computing devices to help you optimize the performance of today’s quantum systems. Running hybrid workloads on processors such as the new 80-qubit processor from Rigetti has the potential to help you accelerate innovation into the kinds of algorithms and performance criteria that are needed for near term quantum hardware to benefit real-world applications.
The Aspen-M-1 device will be available everyday in the US West (N. California) region from 15:00:00 - 19:00:00 UTC. To get started with the Aspen-M-1 device, please see the following resources: Amazon Braket documentation, Amazon Braket Console , Amazon Braket Pricing.
