Amazon RDS Custom for SQL Server is a managed database service that allows administrative access to the operating system. Starting today, you can deploy RDS Custom for SQL Server by using AWS CloudFormation templates. AWS CloudFormation simplifies provisioning and management of resources on AWS.

You can create templates for the RDS Custom for SQL Server service as per your required architecture, and have AWS CloudFormation use those templates for quick and reliable provisioning of your database instances. With CloudFormation templates, RDS Custom for SQL Server instance lifecycles can be managed in a repeatable, predictable, and safe way, while allowing for automatic rollbacks, automated state management, and management of instances across accounts and regions.
