AWS Service Catalog now supports the ability to disassociate and delete products in one-action

AWS Service Catalog customers can now disassociate and delete their AWS Service Catalog products in one-action, making it easier to update and manage their catalog of AWS resources.

Customers use AWS Service Catalog to manage and share their infrastructure-as-code templates, and apply governance to them. These templates are saved as products in AWS Service Catalog, and can be arranged in logical sets called portfolios. Prior to this feature, customers were prevented from deleting products if there were any associated resource components. For example, customers would have to manually and individually disassociate other resource components such as portfolio associations, TagOptions, Service Actions, and Budgets, prior to being able to delete their AWS Service Catalog products. Now, using the console or creating a custom alias through the AWS Command Line Interface (CLI), customers can efficiently delete their AWS products in one step. When customers select ‘Delete’ from the console, a new module will appear that lists all the components that are associated for a given AWS Service Catalog product. Customers can see and verify these associations and upon confirmation, select ‘Disassociate and Delete’, which will automatically disassociate all components and delete the AWS product.
