Amazon Route 53 Resolver endpoints now supports IPv6, allowing you to forward traffic to and resolve traffic from on-premises Domain Name System (DNS) servers with IPv6 addresses.
Amazon Route 53 is a highly available and scalable cloud DNS service. Amazon Route 53 Resolver endpoints make hybrid cloud configurations easier to manage by enabling seamless DNS query resolution across your entire hybrid cloud. With this capability, you can now create inbound endpoints with IPv6 address to accept incoming DNS queries from your network, or an outbound endpoint to forward DNS queries from one or more Amazon Virtual Private Clouds (Amazon VPCs) to a DNS server on your network with an IPv6 address. You can select from IPv4, IPv6, or dual-stack endpoints that support both IPv4 and IPv6 resolution.
IPv6 support is available in all AWS Regions where Route 53 Resolver endpoints are available today, including the AWS GovCloud (US) Region. For more information on availability, please see the AWS Region table.
You can configure Route 53 Resolver endpoints using the AWS Management Console, AWS CLI, AWS SDK, or the Amazon Route 53 API. To learn more about Route 53 Resolver endpoints and pricing, please refer to the service documentation and website.
