Amazon ElastiCache now supports Graviton3-based M7g and R7g node families. ElastiCache Graviton3 nodes deliver improved price-performance compared to Graviton2. As an example, when running ElastiCache for Redis on an R7g.4xlarge node, you can achieve up to 28% increased throughput (read and write operations per second) and up to 21% improved P99 latency, compared to running on R6g.4xlarge. In addition, these nodes deliver up to 25% higher networking bandwidth.
AWS Graviton3 processors are the latest generation of custom-designed AWS Graviton processors built on the AWS Nitro System. The Graviton3 processors offer several improvements over the Graviton2 processors, for example, Graviton3-based R7g and M7g are the first AWS instances to feature the latest DDR5 memory, which provides 50% more memory bandwidth compared to DDR4, enabling high-speed access to data in memory.
The M7g and R7g nodes are now available for Amazon ElastiCache in the following AWS regions: US East (N. Virginia and Ohio), US West (Oregon), Europe (Ireland and Frankfurt) and Asia Pacific (Tokyo, Sydney) regions. To get started, create a new cluster or upgrade to Graviton3 using the AWS Management Console, and get more information.
