Amazon CloudWatch Application Insights now offers observability of SAP NetWeaver applications deployed with Standard System Deployment architecture. This launch builds on our observability of multi-app deployments on a single instance. Application Insights helps customers gain insights for their SAP and non-SAP applications, databases and AWS resources by making it easy to set up and monitor applications, recognize problems, and use data to make decisions.
SAP customers typically deploy their critical production environments by installing the different NetWeaver components such as ASCS, PAS and the HANA DB on different EC2 instances. However, customers also deploy SAP environments by installing all components of SAP NetWeaver on a single EC2 instance . This is a common deployment architecture for non-production and non-critical production SAP workloads. Customers can now setup and monitor such SAP environments and preselect the metrics, logs and alarms related to security, availability, and performance for both SAP NetWeaver and HANA DB. These metrics are used to create a single consolidated application health dashboard that helps operations teams view, search and sort any problems and gain actionable insights for their SAP applications.
