Starting today, you can use AWS Application Migration Service (AWS MGN) to prepare your environment for the migration process using the MGN connector directly from the AWS Application Migration Service console.
The MGN connector helps you initialize the migration process when executing large migration projects, including verifying the agent installation prerequisites and automating deployment of the AWS replication agent across your inventory. The process is fully managed from the AWS MGN console.
Additionally, you can now display resource tags within the source servers, applications and waves tables, in the console. This provides high-visibility for important attributes, and allows you to sort and filter based on them. Also, you can now migrate servers running Amazon Linux 2023 and those using kernel versions up to 6.1.
Application Migration Service minimizes time-intensive, error-prone manual processes by automating the conversion of your source servers to run natively on AWS. It also helps simplify modernization of your migrated applications by allowing you to select preconfigured and custom optimization options during migration.
These features are now available in all of the AWS Regions where AWS Application Migration Service is available. Access the AWS Regional Services List for the most up-to-date availability information.
To start using Application Migration Service for free, sign in through the AWS Management Console. For more information, visit the Application Migration Service product page or documentation.
