Amazon OpenSearch Service now offers Amazon EC2 Im4gn instances powered by AWS Graviton2 processors. The new Im4gn instance type is best suited for storage-intensive workloads and offers a lower cost per TB than the existing storage optimized instances available on OpenSearch Service. Im4gn supports up to 30 TB of NVMe SSD instance storage with AWS Nitro SSDs.
Im4gn instances are optimized for workloads that manage large datasets and need high storage density per vCPU, which are typical for log analytics use cases. Im4gn instances come in sizes ‘large’ through ‘16xlarge’, and offer compute, memory, and storage flexibility. Amazon OpenSearch Service Im4gn instances support OpenSearch versions and Elasticsearch versions 7.9 and above. Please refer Amazon OpenSearch Service pricing page for pricing details.
Amazon OpenSearch Service Im4gn instances are available immediately in 11 regions globally: Asia Pacific (Singapore), Asia Pacific (Sydney), Asia Pacific (Tokyo), Canada (Central), Europe (Frankfurt), Europe (Ireland), Europe (London), Europe (Paris), US East (N. Virginia), US East (Ohio), and US West (Oregon). Please refer to the AWS Region Table for more information about OpenSearch Service availability.
