AWS Security Hub has released 19 new security controls, increasing the number of controls offered to 292. With these new controls, Security Hub now supports four additional AWS services: Amazon EventBridge, Amazon Managed Streaming for Apache Kafka (MSK), Amazon MQ, and Amazon Route 53. Security Hub also released new controls against eight previously supported services including Amazon Elastic Container Service (ECS) and Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS). To use the new controls, turn on the standard they belong to—either the Foundational Security Best Practices (FSBP) or National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) SP 800-53 Rev. 5—if you haven’t done so already. If you are already using these standards and have Security Hub configured to automatically enable new controls, these new controls will run without taking any additional action.
