Amazon OpenSearch Service now offers support for the Amazon Graviton2 instance family in six additional regions- Africa (Cape Town), Asia Pacific (Osaka), Europe (Zurich), Middle East (Bahrain). Israel (Tel Aviv), and AWS GovCloud (US-West). Graviton-based instances (C6g/M6g/R6g) in OpenSearch Service provide up to 30% better price-performance than comparable x86-based (C5/M5/R5) Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud instances.
Amazon EC2 general purpose (M6g), compute optimized (C6g), and memory optimized (R6g, R6gd) instances are powered by Amazon Graviton2 processors that are built utilizing 64-bit Arm Neoverse cores and custom silicon designed by Amazon. Amazon Graviton2 processors deliver a major leap in performance and capabilities. Amazon OpenSearch Service Graviton2 instances come in sizes large through 12xlarge and offer compute, memory, and storage flexibility.
Amazon OpenSearch Service Graviton2 instances are supported on all OpenSearch versions, and Elasticsearch versions 7.9 and 7.10. Please refer to the Amazon OpenSearch Service pricing page for additional information about instance types supported in different regions and their On-Demand and Reserved Instance pricing details.
