AWS Transfer Family now provides static IP addresses for SFTP connectors, enabling connection with remote SFTP servers that are secured by IP allowlisting controls. With this enhancement, you can now reliably and seamlessly exchange files with external business partners that only accept inbound connections from known IP addresses.
SFTP connectors provide a fully managed and low code capability to copy files at scale between remote SFTP servers, and Amazon S3. Prior to today, your connectors were not assigned a fixed IP address on creation, preventing them from connecting with remote SFTP servers that need to allowlist IP addresses for access. With today’s launch, your connectors will now be automatically assigned fixed IP addresses that will remain unchanged over their lifetime. These IP addresses can be added to the IP allowlist on remote servers to enable access for your connectors. You can identify the IP addresses associated with connectors in your account by navigating to the connector details page in the AWS Transfer Family Console, or by using the DescribeConnector API/CLI/CDK command.
