Enhance enterprise analytics with new Amazon Quick Sight theming features
Amazon Quick Sight now provides powerful theming capabilities that solve three critical enterprise analytics challenges: maintaining consistent brand identity, simplifying migration from legacy business intelligence (BI) platforms, and creating seamless embedded analytics experiences. With these new features, users can customize interactive sheet backgrounds, implement sophisticated card styling, and control typography across dashboards.
Whether embedding analytics in applications, transitioning from traditional BI tools, or ensuring corporate brand compliance, Quick Sight’s enhanced theming features deliver the precise control and flexibility every enterprise needs. In this post, we explore the new theming feature and how it helps address enterprise analytics needs.
Organizations often struggle with maintaining brand identity across analytics touchpoints, experience friction when migrating from legacy BI platforms, and face difficulties creating native-looking embedded analytics experiences. To address these challenges, we are launching comprehensive layout customization features that provide greater control over your dashboard’s visual presentation.
Interactive sheet customization using themes
Amazon Quick Sight helps users define a theme that suits the use case and apply it to a dashboard; themes can be switched at the time of design or embedding. The new feature helps define gradient backgrounds for interactive sheets using themes.
In the image that follows, we show an example of how to select a custom gradient color for the background.
To enable this while editing:
- Go to the interactive sheets section.
- Set a gradient background color for the interactive sheet.
- Set the angle of the gradient.
As shown in the following image, Quick Sight also provides the option to set a solid background.

Visual card customization
Amazon Quick Sight now offers options to customize visual cards via Cards → Card Style within the theme editor. From here, users can adjust the background color, border color, opacity, thickness, and corner radius. Additional options include making cards transparent by disabling the background and disabling borders entirely; examples of both are shown in the following images.

To set the padding between cards, go to Cards → Card Layout within the theme editor. The same padding can be set on all sides or one for each side.

Typography options for title, subtitle, and visual elements
Amazon Quick Sight now offers custom typography options to all dashboard visuals along with the capability to manage it in one place. In the following dashboard example, both the title and subtitle have been modified for all visuals using themes. This setting is found in the theme editor, under the Cards section.
Note: Users can still override these for individual visuals.

Typography for visual elements like axis, legends and data labels and values can also be set independently, as shown in the following image. These options are available in the theme editor under Chart options section.

Real-world applications of Amazon Quick Sight theming

For a smooth transition, be sure to document the existing BI tool’s visual standards before configuring Quick Sight layouts.
Embedded analytics
When embedding Quick Sight dashboards into applications, the new theming options help match the host application’s visual style, delivering seamless visual integration, and a consistent, professional user experience.
Brand compliance
Maintaining brand identity across analytics is now simple and straightforward. Organizations can now enforce visual standards and ensure consistency across all dashboards, teams, and departments.
