NFTScan Improves User Experience with Better Performance by Migrating to AWS
2022
NFTScan is a professional NFT (non-fungible token) browser and data open platform, which supports the full amount of NFT data of Ethereum\BNBChain\Polygon\Moonbeam\Arbitrum\Optimism\Solana. By June 15, 2022, NFTScan open platform had gathered more than 1,000 registered developer users, and established partnerships with more than 70 blockchain projects, capable of responding to more than four million data requests on a daily basis. Committed to becoming one of the most influential infrastructures in the blockchain field, NFTScan provides developers secure and stable data services, and simple, efficient retrieval services to users, including NFT Collection, NFT Contract, Wallet Address, NFT TxHash and other multidimensional data search and query functions.
Based on AWS reliable infrastructure and flexible managed services, we now provide NFTScan browser, Open API and NFT Analytics and many other services with better performance, and Web 3.0 developers and NFT users across the world can obtain more secure, stable and efficient retrieval services on our blockchain infrastructure.”

Mature Cloud Services Needed for Global Business Expansion
“We are a newly established technical team with only 16 full time employees, and 60 percent of them are developers. Building a browser platform that supports multi-chain NFT assets and a multi-chain full data infrastructure has its challenges. Our technical team should not only adapt to various NFT asset protocol standards, but also achieve secure storage and efficient queries of massive data,” said Shier, co-founder of NFTScan, “and, with the functional diversification and rapid data growth of NFTScan, existing cloud platforms have failed to meet our business needs. We need a more mature cloud service provider to deliver more flexible and efficient services to global users, and we are also seeking new ways to reduce costs and improve efficiency so that our technical team can be more dedicated to business rather than tedious, time-consuming construction of infrastructure as well as operation and maintenance management.” After comprehensive comparison, NFTScan decided to migrate to Amazon Web Services (AWS) to accelerate its business development.
Enabling Multi-Chain Data Acquisition and Global Access
NFTScan not only collects and resolves NFT data on blockchain networks, but also provides developers and users with professional, efficient NFT data search and query functions. The global cloud infrastructure and low-latency networks of AWS can meet these needs. In terms of network performance, the advantages of AWS fully redundant fiber optic backbone network and Amazon CloudFront global acceleration network can allow users to achieve NFT data query requests and acquisition within just several milliseconds.
Accelerating Massive Data Processing and Analysis
AWS provides mature solutions of data storage, cloud database, and big data query and analysis services, helping NFTScan better respond to massive data summarization and applications. “Amazon OpenSearch Service allows us to easily search, analyze, display and protect PBs of textual and unstructured data, greatly facilitating the processing of massive NFT and blockchain data,” said Wang Zhi, CTO of NFTScan, “Amazon Elastic MapReduce (Amazon EMR), on the other hand, allows us to swiftly build a big data platform on cloud, run big data applications and analyze PBs of data more efficiently. The total cost is lower than that of traditional self-built data platform.”
Exploiting Business Value through Consulting
For NFTScan, cloud migration is not simply to deploy business operation on AWS, rather, it allows the company to leverage AWS technical experience and best practices to present more secure, efficient and reliable NFTScan browser, Open API and NFT Analytics data services. The service of eCloudrover provided end-to-end support. “Successful cloud migration will not be possible without comprehensive planning. eCloudrover’s rich experience in AWS and migration helped us eliminate challenges of core business system migration, and its professional service team provided support in consulting, planning, execution and optimization, allowing us to reduce migration and deployment costs of NFTScan browser and data infrastructure, and adopt best practices to achieve technical upgrading,” remarked Wang Zhi, CTO of NFTScan.
Cost Effectiveness with Elastic and Scalable Services
NFTScan used Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) to build an elastic microservice architecture in order to accelerate business platform migration and reduce costs. “Amazon EC2 services allowed us to rapidly deploy a Docker or Java environment through a cloud server. Therefore, our core applications are all deployed on Amazon EC2, whose flexibility and elasticity properly supported the implementation of NFTScan multi-chain NFT strategy,” said Wang Zhi, CTO of NFTScan, “Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3), on the other hand, provided scalable and redundant storage services that allowed us to securely and reliably store full NFT and blockchain data in one place. Amazon S3 also provided interfaces that can be integrated with data query/analysis tools and NFTScan browser, which further reduced the complexity of our architecture.”
Continuous Evolution of Technical Architecture
Supported by eCloudrover, NFTScan adopted many AWS native services to replace its self-built IT stacks, improving work efficiency and service performance. For instance, Amazon OpenSearch Service to replace its traditional self-built Elasticsearch, Amazon Aurora to replace its self-built MySQL database, and Amazon EMR to run big data frameworks. These managed services and open source technologies are fully compatible with each other, allowing NFTScan to achieve higher performance of the NFT browser when retrieving from blockchains. These managed services also helped NFTScan effectively respond to more than four million data requests in a day, and greatly reduced workloads of deployment, operation, maintenance and scaling.
