Taking BMW Group’s in-vehicle voice experience from idea to reality
Patrick Prang—principal product owner, voice experience at BMW Group—says he and his team had clear criteria for the next-generation of in-vehicle voice, the MINI Intelligent Personal Assistant. Strong embedded offline capabilities, easy access through customers’ familiar MINI ID, and a great brand connection. At AWS re:Invent 2023, Prang talks about the product development journey that transformed the company’s in-vehicle voice vision into reality using Amazon Alexa in what’s one more example of innovation through BMW and AWS collaboration.
With the Alexa Custom Assistant, we were able to introduce and develop an own-branded voice for the MINI.”
