Builder Zone: Explore how AWS services can support your unique needs

Learn how AWS Elemental Media Services can help you tackle your biggest challenges, from capturing detailed video quality metrics for every frame in your output with AWS Elemental MediaConvert, and monetizing live video while offering digital video recorder (DVR) features with AWS Elemental MediaTailor.

AWS Elemental MediaConvert frame-by-frame video output quality measurement

Content providers need frame-level video quality insights to optimize their encoding workflows and troubleshoot quality of experience (QoE) issues. AWS Elemental MediaConvert now provides detailed video quality metrics for every frame in your output. This demo showcases a visualization tool that displays MediaConvert frame-by-frame quality data directly in a video player. Use it to validate that your adaptive bitrate (ABR) streams meet quality objectives and optimize the balance between video quality and data efficiency.

HLS Interstitials with live DVR functionality with AWS Elemental MediaTailor

Customers want to monetize live video while offering digital video recorder (DVR) features and reducing impact on viewers. This demo showcases server-guided ad insertion (SGAI) using HLS Interstitials with AWS Elemental MediaTailor in a live streaming environment with extended DVR functionality. Visitors can observe how pre-roll ads play once while preserving underlying content, and how timeline scrubbing to mid-roll positions triggers ad requests and delivery. The demo illustrates how SGAI optimizes monetization through enhanced viewer experience, precise ad placement control, and improved measurement capabilities. Using a live stream with extended DVR window, this demo shows seamless ad insertion while maintaining content integrity.

Media Quality-Aware Resiliency (MQAR) for live streaming

Deploying infrastructure across multiple availability zones and regions is an effective approach to achieve higher levels of resiliency and deliver a high quality of experience to viewers. Media Quality-Aware Resiliency (MQAR) is an integrated capability between Amazon CloudFront and AWS Media Services that automatically detects, reacts to, and provides visibility into potential issues within live streaming pipelines. This demonstration explores three different architectures, including MQAR, to detect upstream errors and reduce the operational burden of identifying and quickly responding to issues with live streaming workloads running on AWS.
