Empowering Cloud Innovation
Continental AG (Continental) worked with AWS Skills Guild to accelerate organization-wide cloud adoption, unlock innovation potential, and enable its vision of generating new business ideas with cloud. A comprehensive cloud skills training program, Continental Cloud Guild is engaging thousands of staff across the world to improve cloud knowledge and drive global collaboration. As well as contributing to employees’ professional development, the program also accelerated the development of new solutions to support Continental’s growth as it enters its new software-focused phase.
New Business Ideas
An 8-week ideation challenge encouraged employees across the globe to collaborate on creative ideas, drawing more than 100 business proposals. From these, a shortlist of 7 were developed to pitch, and the 3 winning ideas are being implemented in the business.
Knowledge Sharing
Learning Paths
For the program to succeed at scale, a proactive learning culture was important. 20 learning paths were created, with a specific focus on cloud awareness. Training was made available to all employees, both technical and non-technical, enabling cloud skills and innovation to flow across the business.
International Reach
With the support of AWS through consultative engagement, and by adopting the AWS Skills Guild framework, Continental was able to implement the program at a global scale. Employees from 26 countries, including China, were able to collaborate on and participate in the program.
