Cloud Migration Just the Start for National Australia Bank

As one of Australia’s leading business banks, National Australia Bank (NAB) continues its cloud migration at great speed, and the numbers come in for customer — and developer — satisfaction.

NAB continues to expand its existing capabilities to grow, modernize, and meet changing customer demands. When it began its digital journey, NAB had too few employees trained in cloud skills to efficiently execute the transformation. Now, it has trained 7,000 employees in cloud, of which 2,700 are now formally accredited. NAB has built cloud fluency across the organization and continues to develop the skill sets that employees need to be innovative and agile in a cloud environment.

NAB customers and employees have seen dramatic service improvements as a result of its digital transformation. It has moved critical assets to the cloud, including internet banking and NAB Connect, which is the main digital conduit between NAB and the businesses that they support. With AWS, NAB brought resilience to NAB connect, taking advantage of the cloud native auto healing and auto-scaling capabilities.
