Saint Louis University Case Study

Saint Louis University (SLU) is the first university to bring virtual personal assistants into every student residence on its campus and to equip them with a private, SLU-specific skill using Alexa for Business. SLU placed more than 2,300 Amazon Echo Dots in residence hall rooms and student apartments in the fall of 2018. The SLU skill—built by N-Powered and deployed through Alexa for Business to all Alexa-enabled devices on campus—provides instant answers to more than 100 custom questions, including: “What time does the library close tonight?” and “Where is the registrar’s office?”
