Amazon ECS Adds Console Support for T2 Unlimited EC2 Instances

Posted on: Jul 24, 2018

Amazon Elastic Container Service (Amazon ECS) now supports launching T2 Unlimited EC2 instances directly from the Amazon ECS console during cluster creation.

A T2 Unlimited instance can sustain high CPU performance for any period of time whenever required. Previously, to add T2 Unlimited instances to your Amazon ECS cluster required manually adding instances to the cluster through the AWS CLI or by using a CloudFormation template.

Now, you can add T2 Unlimited instances to your cluster in the Amazon ECS console by selecting the 'Unlimited mode' checkbox available for all T2 instances during instance creation.
