AWS Systems Manager Distributor is a recently released feature that you can use to securely store and distribute software packages, such as software agents, in your accounts. Distributor integrates with existing Systems Manager features to simplify and scale the package distribution, installation, and update process.
With Distributor, you manage your software packages from a centralized location. Software packages are stored in Systems Manager, providing a centralized repository with version control. Software packages can also be shared with other AWS accounts in your organization. By using AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) policies, you can control who can manage and install the packages in your AWS account. You can use Run Command to install packages on demand, or you can use State Manager to update packages on target instances automatically or on a schedule.
The AWS Systems Manager Distributor feature is available in all GovCloud (US) and commercial Regions (excluding China Regions). This feature is priced on a pay-per-use model. See the AWS Systems Manager Pricing page for details.
