AWS CodeCommit Supports VPC Endpoints

Posted on: Mar 7, 2019

You can now access AWS CodeCommit from your Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (Amazon VPC) using VPC endpoints.

Many AWS customers run their applications within a VPC for security or isolation reasons. Previously, you could connect to CodeCommit from your VPC using an internet gateway or VPN connection. With VPC endpoints, no public IP addresses are required and traffic between the VPC and CodeCommit does not leave the Amazon network. You can also create a policy for VPC endpoints in which you can specify the principal that can perform actions, the actions that can be performed, and the resources that can have actions performed on them.

To get started, select AWS CodeCommit in the Amazon VPC console. To learn more about using VPC endpoints with CodeCommit, refer to our documentation. Visit the AWS global region table for a full list of AWS Regions where CodeCommit is available.
