AWS Systems Manager Distributor now enables in-place updates to keep your software packages installed during the update process. With this feature, you can avoid uninstalling your software during the update process, enhancing your security posture and availability.
With Distributor, you can securely store and manage software packages, such as software agents, from a centralized, version-controlled repository. With this feature, you can provide an update script and choose to keep your packages installed while they are updated. This helps you ensure that software packages that need to run continuously, such as security and monitoring agents, are not interrupted during the update process.
Distributor is a feature in Systems Manager. Systems Manager enables visibility and control of your cloud and on-premises infrastructure. It simplifies resource and application management, shortens the time to detect and resolve operational problems, and makes it easier to operate and manage your infrastructure securely at scale.
The AWS Systems Manager Distributor in-place update feature is available in all Regions (except China). Distributor is priced on a pay-per-use model. See the AWS Systems Manager pricing page for details.
