AWS Fargate launches Usage Metrics and applied Service Quotas visibility

Posted on: Aug 3, 2020

You can now view and manage your quotas (also referred to as limits) using Service Quotas for AWS Fargate, the serverless compute engine for containers that works with both Amazon Elastic Container Service (ECS) and Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS). Service Quotas consolidates the default values and your account specific applied values for Fargate On-Demand and Fargate Spot resource count quotas in one single location. In addition, AWS Fargate now supports Amazon CloudWatch Usage Metrics, making it easier to get better visibility into the Fargate resource utilization in your account and proactively manage your quotas. With the CloudWatch Usage Metrics and Service Quotas integration, you can easily monitor Fargate resource usage against quotas and configure alarms to warn about usage approaching a service quota.

Usage Metrics and Service Quotas for Fargate are available at no additional cost in all AWS Regions where Service Quotas and AWS Fargate services are currently available. You can view and manage your quotas from the Service Quotas console, and retrieve usage metrics using the Amazon CloudWatch console. Usage metrics and service quotas can also be retrieved using the AWS CLI and SDK. To get started with Service Quotas and Usage Metrics, visit the Service Quotas and Usage Metrics page.
