You can now sign up to receive event notifications on your Amazon Neptune DB clusters, DB instances, DB cluster snapshots, parameter groups, or security groups. Whenever certain events occur, event notifications can be sent in any notification form supported by the Amazon Simple Notification Service (SNS) for an AWS Region, such as an email, a text message, or a call to an HTTP endpoint.
Previously, you needed to check the real-time status of a database cluster and instances manually from the console or the audit logs. Now, you can subscribe to an SNS topic and be notified automatically of events such as the completion of patching, an instance failover, or a security group modification. For example, you can use AWS Lambda to process the events of a database instance. Developers can subscribe to over 80 types of events using the AWS Management Console or the CLI.
Event notifications for Amazon Neptune are supported in regions where Amazon Neptune is available. Amazon SNS charges apply when using event notifications with Amazon Neptune. For more information, see Amazon SNS pricing. For a complete list of events, as well as to learn more about event notifications, please refer to the Event Notifications section of the Amazon Neptune User Guide.
