Amazon Aurora Serverless v1 with PostgreSQL compatibility is now available in Asia Pacific (Singapore), Asia Pacific (Sydney) Asia Pacific (Seoul), Asia Pacific (Mumbai), Canada (Central), Europe (London), Europe (Paris), and US West (N. California) regions.
Aurora Serverless is an on-demand, auto-scaling configuration for Amazon Aurora, where the database will automatically start up, shut down, and scale capacity up or down based on your application's needs. Amazon Aurora Serverless v1 is a simple, cost-effective option for infrequent, intermittent, or unpredictable workloads. You simply create an endpoint through the Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS) Management Console, and Aurora Serverless handles the rest. You pay by the second and only when the database is in use.
Read about Aurora Serverless v1 on the product page and in the Aurora Serverless documentation.
You can also use the Amazon RDS Data API and Amazon RDS Query editor for Amazon Aurora Serverless v1 with PostgreSQL compatibility in all the regions where Aurora Serverless v1 is available. The Data API enables you to invoke SQL commands against an Aurora Serverless database through an HTTPS API endpoint. Amazon RDS Query Editor provides an easy way for you to run SQL queries without having to install and set up an external JDBC/ODBC client. Query results are instantly visible within the Amazon RDS Management Console.
Amazon Aurora is a fully managed relational database that combines the performance and availability of high-end commercial databases with the simplicity and cost-effectiveness of open source databases. For a list of all regions and supported engine versions on Aurora Serverless v1, see Aurora documentation.
