You can now use AWS Elemental MediaLive with a POIS (placement opportunity information system) to condition and react to in-band SCTE-35 signals in your sources.

MediaLive uses the event signaling and management (ESAM) protocol for interfacing with a POIS server. The POIS can be informed about program breaks and advertisement placement opportunities, and can modify the downstream signaling of events. MediaLive can also continue to monitor a designated input for SCTE-35 signals while encoding a separate source, enabling content replacement.

For more information on how to enable this feature, visit the MediaLive documentation for POIS signal conditioning. POIS signal conditioning in MediaLive is available at no additional cost.

AWS Elemental MediaLive is a broadcast-grade live video processing service. It lets you create high-quality live video streams for delivery to broadcast televisions and internet-connected multiscreen devices, like connected TVs, tablets, smartphones, and set-top boxes.

The MediaLive service functions independently or as part of AWS Media Services, a family of services that form the foundation of cloud-based workflows and offer you the capabilities you need to transport, create, package, monetize, and deliver video.
