You can now view and access thumbnails from AWS Elemental MediaLive inputs via the AWS Management Console or API.
Input visibility is critical for monitoring and diagnosing issues with video streams. Periodic thumbnail images of MediaLive inputs provide confirmation that the correct source is present and ready for processing. Thumbnails are created after the input is decoded, so you have access to images before any encoding for channel output happens. This means you can monitor the input and output video separately for greater visibility. For more information on thumbnail access, visit the MediaLive documentation. Thumbnails in MediaLive are available at no additional cost.
AWS Elemental MediaLive is a broadcast-grade live video processing service. It lets you create high-quality live video streams for delivery to broadcast TVs and internet-connected multiscreen devices, like connected tablets, smartphones, and set-top boxes.
The MediaLive service functions independently or as part of AWS Media Services, a family of services that form the foundation of cloud-based workflows and offer you the capabilities you need to transport, create, package, monetize, and deliver video. Visit the AWS region table for a full list of AWS Regions where AWS Elemental MediaLive is available.
