AWS Network Firewall is now available in AWS Secret Region

Posted on: Aug 8, 2025

Amazon Web Services (AWS) announces the general availability of AWS Network Firewall in AWS Secret Region. With this launch, customers in the US defense, intelligence, and national security communities can deploy AWS Network Firewall for workloads at the Secret US security classification level.

Through this expansion into this AWS Region, the national security community, along with mission partners across federal civilian agencies, research and development centers, and private industry, can protect their most sensitive workloads using the same AWS Network Firewall capabilities that are already available in commercial AWS Regions. AWS Network Firewall is a managed firewall service that makes it seamless to deploy essential network protections for all your Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (Amazon VPC) connections. The service automatically scales with network traffic volume to provide high-availability protections without the need to set up or maintain the underlying infrastructure.
