AWS Week in Review – June 11, 2012

Let’s take a quick look at what happened in AWS-land last week:

Monday, June 11	You can now run MySQL server on Amazon RDS for just $19 per month. We introduced Roles for EC2 Instances to simplify secure access to AWS APis from EC2.
Tuesday, June 12	We announced that there are now one trillion objects stored in Amazon S3. The AWS SDK for Ruby now supports the roles for EC2 instances that were announced on Monday. The .NET, PHP, and Java SDKs have also been updated. We announced that you can now run Apache HBase on Amazon Elastic MapReduce.
Wednesday, June 13	We updated the AWS Support plans, with more options and several powerful new features.
Thursday, June 14	We added additional IP address ranges to EC2, bringing the total to 2,375,592. We released a series of short videos on the topic of Web Application Hosting on AWS with Linux.
Friday, June 15	This week, we continued to add many new products to AWS Marketplace, including commonly requested OSS products SOLR and Node.js. We also had new listings from Adobe including LiveCycle and Connect and along with the Hadoop Summit in San Jose, we added listings for MapR M3 and M5.
