Your Input Needed – 2009 AWS Survey

Voiced by Polly

In years past, we have surveyed some of our customers to learn more about where they would like to see us take AWS. This year we have decided to open up the survey to all readers of this blog.

I would like to invite all our customers and prospects to fill up our 2009 AWS Survey.

This survey is an opportunity for you to provide feedback on AWS, including current features and services youd like to see in the future. If you are looking for a way to get your voice heard, this is your chance. We take customer feedback very seriously, and encourage you to share your opinions. Services such as Amazon Elastic MapReduce and Amazon CloudFront are a direct result of feedback from customers like you who have shared in the past about how they used AWS or were planning to use AWS. For example, take a look at one such question from the survey:

Please list the top 3 new features that AWS can deliver that will help improve your experience with AWS:

The survey will not only help us understand what our customers are looking for (in terms of new features, new services) but also help us prioritize our current activities. For example, the question below will help us focus our energy in the right direction based on collective intelligence that we capture from the survey.

Which of the following would be most helpful for you to move your existing applications to Amazon Web Services?

Provide me with a list of consulting firms in my area/industry.

Provide me with architectural design documents for my use case.

Provide me with how-to documentation that explains the migration process.

Provide me with technical case studies that have examples from other companies.

Other:

The maximum length of the survey is 39 questions and it should take you less than 20 minutes to complete.

This survey can be taken anonymously, but if you provide us with your e-mail address or would like AWS to contact you, there is also a mechanism to do that. You will also be entered into a drawing for one $500 Amazon.com gift card, or for one of 10 $100 Amazon.com gift cards. (No Purchase Necessary.  Restrictions apply.  Ends August 24, 2009.  Odds of winning depend on number of eligible entries received.  See Official Rules for details.)
