Front-End Web & Mobile

AWS re:Invent

Several members of the AWS Mobile SDK team will be at AWS re:Invent in Las Vegas later this month. We’ll be presenting two sessions, answering questions in the Developer Lounge, and assisting with the AWS re:Invent Code Challenge. Stop by to get your questions answered, compete in a Code Challenge, or just say hello. We love to talk shop about mobile development and are eager for feedback on how we can help you build great AWS-powered apps. The Code Challenge features several problems targeted at mobile developers. Each problem offers a chance to win a Kindle Fire HD!

The two scheduled sessions are Solving Common Mobile Use Cases with the AWS Mobile SDKs and Data Persistence to Amazon DynamoDB for Mobile Apps.

Solving Common Mobile Use Cases with the AWS Mobile SDKs, Wednesday, November 28th from 3:25pm – 4:15pm

Bob Kinney and I will be reviewing some of the samples included with the AWS Mobile SDKs and the benefits of using the SDKs in mobile apps. We’ll demonstrate how the SDKs enable you to integrate your mobile apps with AWS. We’ll also discuss and demonstrate managing credentials in a mobile environment.

Data Persistence to Amazon DynamoDB for Mobile Apps, Thursday, November 29th from 11:35am – 12:25pm

Bob Kinney will cover the two high-level interfaces that the AWS Mobile SDKs expose for Amazon DynamoDB: the AWS Persistence Framework for Core Data and the DynamoDB Mapper for Android. Bob will demonstrate the frameworks as well as code walkthroughs. This detailed talk will give developers a solid background and understanding of how to incorporate these frameworks into your mobile apps.
