Laura Wotton is head of global communications at Jacaranda Health, a Kenya-based nonprofit working to improve maternal and newborn health outcomes in the public health system. Based in Nairobi, she oversees the planning, development and implementation of Jacaranda’s global communications strategy, which includes outreach and advocacy efforts with international donors, strategic partners, and the wider global health community. Before Kenya, Laura lived in Kigali, Rwanda where she led the marketing and communications (MarComms) department at the University of Global Health Equity (UGHE), a global health sciences institution and initiative of nonprofit Partners In Health. During her time in Rwanda, Laura also consulted for Babyl Health helping amplify their digital health offering, and UNICEF, developing content to support their trans-border Ebola prevention activities. In London UK, Laura worked within two global agencies leading a broad range of media partnerships, as well as at the Rwandan High Commission. In Bolivia’s capital La Paz, Laura worked in an editorial capacity, spotlighting issues of gender-based violence in the country in collaboration with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
