Improve your AI skills: New AWS learning paths on JetBrains

Artificial intelligence and machine learning skills are a must-have for developers and engineers. To help developers and engineers gain skills employers are seeking, we’re excited to announce new AWS and JetBrains Skill Paths: Build and Deploy Custom LLMs with Python and AWS and From ML to GenAI: Building Real-World Apps on AWS. These two Skill Paths arm you with practical AI and ML skills.

AWS and JetBrains are a good complement in the developer ecosystem. JetBrains’ IDEs are deeply integrated with AWS services through toolkits that developers can build, debug, and deploy cloud-native applications directly within their preferred dev environment. Additionally, JetBrains uses the AWS global infrastructure and services like Amazon Bedrock for its own AI development, creating a synergy that benefits developers.

Access to these Skill Paths is available with a JetBrains Academy subscription, which includes an AWS sandbox environment, IDE-integrated learning, and a completion certificate. Learners can start with a free trial to explore the content before committing.

Skill Paths

We offer two learning paths to support different skills levels:

Skill Path 1: Build and Deploy Custom LLMs with Python and AWS

This beginner-level Skill Path progresses you from Python fundamentals to deploying your own generative AI applications on AWS. Starting with NumPy and prompt engineering basics, you’ll migrate to building generative AI applications. You’ll learn to code inside PyCharm, provision GPU clusters with Amazon SageMaker HyperPod, fine-tune models with Amazon Bedrock, create APIs with LangChain and follow MLOps practices with reusable notebooks, Docker images, and CI/CD scripts.

By completing this path you will gain assets to accelerate your career, including a custom-trained LLM endpoint on AWS that you can query or embed in applications, reusable notebooks, Docker images, and CI/CD scripts demonstrating your MLOps expertise, and a JetBrains/AWS certificate proving your generative AI and cloud skills

Skill Path 2: From ML to GenAI: Building Real-World Apps on AWS

This intermediate-level Skill Path bridges the gap between AI theory and working products by building a chatbot using Amazon Bedrock. It’s ideal for someone with programming experience with a desire to focus on machine learning and generative AI applications. You will learn: ML fundamentals, learn prompt-engineering best practices, train models with Amazon SageMaker, build generative AI applications using Amazon Bedrock and LangChain, work with foundation models on Amazon Bedrock (RAG, agents, guardrails), and discover how large language models are trained and optimized on AWS.

While completing this path, you’ll develop a project brief, data readiness checklist, and ROI storyboard that’s stakeholder-ready, and gain confidence in your ability to scope, prototype, and pitch LLM solutions.

Hands-on learning environment

One of the most intriguing aspects of these learning paths is that every lab runs in an AWS sandbox environment, allowing you to experiment with cloud resources without worrying about unexpected AWS account charges. It’s easy to follow along with the steps in this hands-on environment.
