New Free Digital Course: AWS Well-Architected for Enterprises
The journey from implementing Well-Architected principles in a single workload to operating many workloads across multiple teams can be challenging. While the AWS Well-Architected Framework provides essential guidance for building secure, high-performing, resilient, and efficient workloads in the AWS Cloud, to fully benefit from Well-Architected, organizations must extend its principles beyond individual teams or workloads.
To help organizations implement Well-Architected best practices consistently while they expand, we’ve launched Well-Architected for Enterprises, a new free digital course. Designed for technical professionals who architect, build, and operate AWS solutions at scale, this intermediate level course will help you optimize your cloud architecture while aligning to your business goals. The course takes approximately one hour to complete and includes a knowledge check at the end to reinforce your learning.
The course covers best practices for preparing and running Well-Architected Framework Reviews (WAFR), provides interactive scenarios to identify and remediate architecture risks, and offers recommendations for building scalable mechanisms to use the Well-Architected Framework across multiple workloads and teams. It also covers key tools, resources, and programs, such as the AWS Well-Architected Tool, AWS Well-Architected Lenses, and AWS Well-Architected Partner Program. Additionally, it explores how generative AI can be used to scale and streamline Well-Architected Framework Reviews.
If you’re new to Well-Architected, start with our free AWS Well-Architected Foundations course as a primer before diving into the enterprise content.
Why Well-Architected for Enterprises?
We get questions all the time from customers asking how to scale their Well-Architected Framework Reviews effectively. That’s why we created this course–to share proven strategies and practical answers to your most common questions, such as:
- How do I integrate my business context into WAFR to maximize the value out of the review, rather than using a generic review process?
- Can I create a mechanism for my team to follow my organization’s own best practices?
- How can I use generative AI capabilities to streamline the review and reduce the manual time required to assess multiple workloads?
- How can I streamline the review process across multiple teams? Do all teams need to answer the same questions every time, or can the process be customized to fit my organization’s needs?
- How do I prioritize improvements identified in the review and allocate teams to resolve them based on business objectives? What tools can assist in this? How do I know which ones are the most critical?
- How can I automate the review process at scale?
What does the course teach you?
- AWS Well-Architected Foundations
The course begins with a review of the core elements of the Well-Architected Framework, including its pillars, design principles, and best practices. This section ensures a strong foundation for building on advanced topics. - How to prepare and run a Well-Architected Framework Review
You’ll learn how to prepare and run a WAFR, including how to identify workloads and considerations to maximize the value of the review. You’ll learn through interactive scenarios and example workloads, and use tools like AWS Trusted Advisor and Service Screener to enhance the review process. - How to improve workload architecture
You will learn how to identify architecture risks, prioritize them based on business goals, and develop remediation plans with recommended timelines. - How to scale across large organizations
You will learn about enterprise-scale WAFR challenges, mechanisms for standardizing processes and organizational visibility, and how to leverage AWS tools and programs for efficient adoption of Well-Architected best practices. - How to leverage generative AI
You will learn how generative AI can optimize and automate parts of WAFR, saving time and resources as your organization grows.
