AWS Sub-processors

This page provides information about the sub-processors that AWS has engaged in accordance with the AWS Data Processing Addendum (AWS DPA) to provide processing activities on Customer Data (as defined in the AWS DPA) on behalf of customers. Sub-processors relevant to an individual customer will depend on the AWS Region the customer selects and the particular AWS services that the customer uses.

As explained in more detail below, there are four types of sub-processors:

1. AWS entities that provide the infrastructure on which the AWS services run;
2. AWS entities that support specific AWS services which may require these entities to process Customer Data;
3. third parties that AWS has contracted with to provide processing activities for specific AWS services; and,
4. entities that support the AWS European Sovereign Cloud and process Customer Data.

Note that sub-processors for the AWS European Sovereign Cloud are listed separately in Section 4. AWS will update this page at least 30 days before engaging a new sub-processor, and if you subscribe for updates, AWS will notify you by email of changes to this page.

The AWS entities listed below provide the infrastructure on which the AWS services run (including AWS Regions and Edge Locations). For more information about AWS's cloud infrastructure, please see the AWS Global Infrastructure website. Where the AWS entity provides the infrastructure for an AWS Region, the AWS Region is listed below.

The AWS entities listed below provide processing activities for specific AWS services. The processing activities provided by the AWS entities include selling and providing certain business application, application integration, and media services (application and media services), networking services, development and improvement of AWS services (service improvement), and/or customer-initiated support.

The AWS entities that sell and provide application and media services, and networking services are listed below along with the associated services. The processing location is the customer’s selected AWS Region(s), and the location of the customer’s end users.abc

Unless customer opts out of AWS using Customer Data for service improvement, where permitted in accordance with the AWS Service Terms, the AWS entities listed below provide service improvement for the applicable AWS services.

AWS development entities referred to in the above table develop and improve AWS services. They include Amazon Asia-Pacific Holdings Private Limited, Amazon Development Center (Netherlands) B.V., Amazon Development Center Korea LLC, Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc., Amazon Development Centre (India) Private Limited, Amazon Development Centre (London) Limited, Amazon Development Centre (South Africa) (Proprietary) Limited, Amazon Development Centre Canada ULC, Amazon Development Centre Ireland Limited, Amazon Japan G.K., Amazon Support Services Pty Ltd, AWS Development Center Germany GmbH.

The AWS entities listed below provide customer-initiated support. These entities do not process Customer Data unless the customer agrees to share Customer Data in the course of requesting support.

AWS has contracted with the following unaffiliated service providers for Application-to-Person (A2P) messaging services and geolocation services (such as maps or points of interest) for the AWS services described below. The processing location is the customer’s selected AWS Region(s), the service providers’ locations listed below and/or the location of the customer’s end users.

Only the entities listed below provide processing activities for the AWS European Sovereign Cloud. They are organized into (a) AWS infrastructure entities, (b) AWS entities providing customer-initiated support, and (c) third-party service providers.

The AWS entities listed below provide customer-initiated support for the AWS European Sovereign Cloud. These entities do not process Customer Data unless the customer agrees to share Customer Data in the course of requesting support.

AWS has contracted with the following unaffiliated service providers to support the AWS services listed below. The processing location is the AWS European Sovereign Cloud (see above), the service providers’ locations listed below, and/or the location of the customer’s end users.
